I had my wedding set checked & signed off that all was good.  Less than 2 weeks later I brought in the same set to have my anniversary band soldered on and the whole thing dipped in white gold.  It was returned to me and after I signed, put on the ring and thought I was done, the clerk told me the jeweler had found that the center stone UNDER the prong was chipped.  What was the jeweler doing under the prong on a diamond?????  Why would he have my diamond loose for ANY reason?

I called Kim, the manager.  She blamed me for chipping the stone after they signed it off for the check up.  She said it was probably doing dishes or something.  Her customer service skills could use some updating.  She finally agreed to have the stone changed out because something didnt sound right with how the stone got chipped.  She said I would have it back last Thursday.  Thursday I called and she basically said "oops" that it wasnt back but that she had talked to the jeweler.  She just forgot to tell me.  She wasn't very polite about it.

Came in this morning to pick up my rings.  The center diamond was good...as far as I could see with my eyes.  Now the side stones are different....I could see them clear as day from just looking at them.  One is so milky with inclusions that I yelled out "this is not my ring" and the clerk that I'd been dealing with came over and said "oh wow... that's not how it was when you brought it in" I was so upset I was about in tears.  I wanted copies of the paperwork because it looked like the jeweler changed out all three diamonds!  A girl knows her diamonds.  Mine did not have milky white streaks!

The clerk agreed to write a statement that the diamonds arent the same.  She said I could send my ring to the diamond bond people and could have the milky diamonds changed out in 6-8 weeks.  It sounded like the diamond bond place was trustworthy and the jeweler couldnt be counted on.  She pulled out paper and pen and the clerk called the manager to discuss the situation.  The clerk was so upset as she apparently was being yelled at and set straight by Kim, the manager.  The clerk said she was not allowed to write a statement and only could offer me a customer complaint phone number.

The clerk was very nice.  She tried to help.  Kim would not let her take care of the situation.  This did not surprise me after my experience with her.

I want my diamonds back.
