Show customers why they should trust your business over your competitors...

I took a loan of $2,525 from Cash Call in February of 2010. I have been making payments monthly through a Debt Consolidation Company of over $400 each month.  I have paid Cash Call more than $3,000 now and still have over $1,800 still to pay.  They charge an outragious interest rate. They are crooks!  I have been making timely payments and still have an insane amount of money to pay them, well over the amount I initially borrowed. It's not right.

How we handled this company

AUTHOR: Ashton - (United States of America)

My husband got suckered into this right before we got married. He didn't want to tell me he was having money issues and thought he would get a loan and pay it back. Then he got laid off and started receiving several letters from them. That's when I found out about it. He already had horrible credit from mistakes (like this one) from the past. Cashcall tried to set up payments from our account, which I refused. I also informed them that his credit was shot anyway so them reporting the negative was no big deal to us and we would pay the total amount owed if they send us an agreement in writing stating that it would be closed on his credit report and reported as pays as agreed. It worked. We paid via cashier's check after receiving the paperwork (which I still have). Try this approach if nothing else has worked.

Sorry for your terrible situation. I hope you got it resolved.

Loans are Expensive

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

But you did go into this with eyes wide open.  The truth is this:  places like this exist because of people who don't understand what signing on the dotted line commits them to, and you kept them in business by using them.  The fact you're also paying this back to a debt consolidation company instead of Cash Call directly indicates a whole host of other poor monetary situations you happen to be in.  Right has nothing to do with it anymore.  Getting this  Borrow the money from a friend at 10% interest and pay off what's left.  That should be a win-win for you and your friend.

Cash Call loans

AUTHOR: Striderq - (U.S.A.)

Yes, they have extremely high interest rates. But these rates are available on line and their reps make sure they record you being told the rates and accepting the rates before they process the loan. So unfortunately you agreed to the terms and weren't ripped off.

The current rates for a loan in CA of $2525 shows a loan fee of $75, interest of 139.34% with 36 payments of $298.44 each for a total repayment of $10761.54  Yeah, that's outragous but when someoneagrees to it I don't have a lot of sympathy for them.

The Big Question

AUTHOR: Cory - (U.S.A.)

Did you know what the interest rate was for your loan AND did you AGREE to those terms? What was the interest rate and what were the terms of the loan? IF you agreed to them, you have nothing to complain about. Those loan places ARE rip offs with interest rate up to 530% PLUS fees and if you're dumb enough to agree to their terms you have no one to blame but yourself. One gal I know borrowed $200 from one of those car loan places. After paying $800 back after a couple of months, she called them up find out how much she owed. They told her $400 would just about cover it. It may not be right but YOU agreed to it.
