Choice Home Warranty is an unscrupulous home warranty service company for both consumers who buy their plans (and soon find that either nothing is covered for a large variety of reasons that they make up as they go along) or they do not pay their vendors for the services provided, which allows the vendor to come back to the consumer to have to pay for the services rendered.
Choice will quickly answer all your questions and spend all their time and energy on getting you to sign up for the home warranty services making you think that they are very comprehensive in their coverage and easy to reach for customer service. Quite a different story as soon as they lure you in and deny, deny, deny all claims submitted for every reason they can come up with in order not to pay. Soon you are out the cost of the monthly home warranty fee and the repairs are on you as well, when they are required. We have seen this on almost every call we have replied to to fix a consumer's broken equipment.
As a vendor, we signed up to provide services in our area to consumers covered by their policies. They signed us up. Sent a dispatch needed for repair. Once there and repairing the item, the company then disappears and does not pay (as you will also see in other complaints filed here) any of the vendors for the work performed. We then go back to the consumer to get paid. The require vendors to get an online account set up after the work is performed to submit their invoices for payment, but won't approve the registration of the account (so that the invoices can't be uploaded). We have been on hold for over an hour at a time for over a month without an answer. If an answer is made, it is only to disconnect the call. They will not respond to inquiries on their website by email --- there is virtually no way to contact them.
Do NOT give them authorization to charge your checking or credit card -- that is their sole goal. Once that happens, you cannot get work done or get them to let you out of the agreement made. Research warranty companies carefully. This is one of the worst in the business and a class action suit for both consumers and representing vendors should be considered.
If you doubt the information presented here, go to their website...www.choicehomewarranty.com and under "contact us" send them an email message on the page and state you are a vendor of theirs and are unable to get paid for work performed and see if you get a response back -- or -- state you are a customer that is trying to reach them because you are having a problem using your warranty policy. See if a response is made to either inquiry (fake or real) for help.
