Fingerhut Credit Advantage Rip Off, this company sets you up with accounts without approval then charges you monthly fees on the account that you do not even know exist. Saint Cloud Minnesota

I was trying to purchase my first home, when the agent ran my credit score to get me a loan, my credit report came back very poor to my dismay. In the list of creditors was this company called Fingerhut Credit Advantage.

Not knowing who this company was I was quite puzzled I tried to call them and never got anywhere then finally I found a number I could call, I talked with a represenative 1 year ago today told them I didn't know why they were on my credit report and wanted them to take it off, they told me. "You signed up for our Credit Advantage Program, and you were issued a Credit Advantage Card". (I had received a card in their description however do not know anything about them so I simply cut up the card and tossed it.)

They then told me by receiving the card and ordering the card I had then submitted my approval for the monthly fee for having the card. I told the represenative that I never requested the card nor do I want the d**n thing, She told me "Well our records indicate that you did".

I asked her look at the supposed account, Did I ever make a purchase with the card? She said "no" I said then why the hell would I ask for a card that charges me a monthly fee that I never used? She said: "people are dumb like that". I was like What the F&%# does that mean??? She hung up?? Why do companies get to do this to people and why do we let them?

To date I still have the d**n thing on my credit report but the amount is now down to $112.00 so I guess I just have to pay it off to get rid of it, The ammount was over $985.00 a year ago!
