21st Century Legal Services Hardship Mortgage Loan Adjustment RipOff California

We were contacted by Mandingo Gibbs of 21st Century Legal Services, offering us a "hardship mortgage adjustment" that would take about 25% off our monthly payment. We made an appointment for a meeting with a notary public, but Mr. Gibbs did NOT tell us that he would not be coming. The notary never showed.

When we called the tollfree numberMr. Gibbs had given us, 888-483-1748, we got only voicemail. We called what he said was his cell number, 909-631-5531, and he did not recognize our name, and when I informed him that I wanted to know why he was an hour and a half late, he said, "Oh, no, I won't be there, I'm in California!" which was the first we'd heard of that.

He had asked for the usual bills & past income tax forms, and stated that we would have to give him three postdated checks for the next three months' mortgage payments, and after that we would be back to paying our regular mortgageholder at the new rate, however as he never showed, he never picked up that information.

I feel very lucky about that.
