3 aflac insurance agents came to were I work the last week of Oct.2004 and the first 2 weeks of Nov.2004.
A few of us signed up for different insurance coverage. Myself was for Life insurance. They were suppose to start having it deducted from our paychecks in 3 weeks. But never did.
I was in constant contact with work about this problem. Finally in January one man from Aflac came to our job sight, to talk to out boss, about deducting the insurance, after the secretary contacted them several times.
And as of now 3/18/2005, we have heard nothing from these people. So, if I died Between November and now, I am not covered. And the other people are not covered for what they signed up for either.

#5 REBUTTAL Individual responds
The employer never deducted money or paid Aflac.

I am the agent who originally wrote these policies.
The employer never deducted any money from their employees after the enrollment. Many calls were made explaining the danger of loss of coverage but to no avail. Several times I visited this employer - again with no effect.
The reason given was that Aflac hadn't transferred the bosses policies into a new account yet...so until HE got exactly what HE wanted, NOBODY was going to get the insurance they had chosen. He was accutely aware of the ramifications and possible harm that could befall his employees. My only possible reason for this is that he simply didn't care.
Finally, I referred this case to our Georgia Headquarters to help explain the need to honor the arrangement they had agreed to and apparantly still the employer refused.
Aflac can not deduct money from your paycheck. We rely on the honesty and good faith of employers to fulfil the premium payment process. In 8 years of selling Aflac products in Maine I have never before encountered an employer with less apparant concern for the welfare of his employees as in this group.
I am sorry that peggy didn't call me directly when this happened, but I will be calling her.

I can fully understand why you would be upset in this instance, and would like to offer some constructive comments. One, have you asked your employer if they set up for the deduction? In some instances, eployers do not have an outside payroll company and it makes this difficult. Or, in the instance that they do have an outside payroll company, sometimes it takes some time for the company to set up for this deduction to occur. I am not saying this is the case with your employer at all, just that where I work, we came across that. Also, have you checked online with AFLAC, or called the office that offered their services? There is a good possibility that if you strongly desire this service and you are not having the funds payroll deducted, you may be able to sign up for the service yourself and not have to worry about the payroll deduction at all. Also, AFLAC cannot automatically payroll deduct from your employers account without prior verification and/or consent, and it sounds like this could be the cause, if not on your employers end than possibly on the payroll end. If it is not, I would suggest contacting the District office of AFLAC in your area, and ask why this is not being done. I assure you, they will be more than willing to assist you in this matter. If my suggestions do not work, I apologize. Let us know how it all works out!
