On February 14, 2006 my fiance and I went to the kyosk at Rushmore mall and inquired about my credit. We thought we may hook up cell service again. The guy working, Derrick, ran my credit and told me that I could hook up to five lines up with no deposit. I told him that I was not interested in doing anything right now.

He followed us to a store and kept telling us the promotions that he could give us and how much it would be if we did a shared line plan. We again said no. He later followed us to the food court and said hey I got these phones and you would get them for free. He says I would take it if its free and then you can sell them later. We said no again.

Today is March 2, 2006 and I got my mail. In my mail there is this bill for $91.75. It is for my cell service through Alltel wireless. It has a number, an account number, and they even have my social security number on it. I tried to get them to do something and everyone seems to think that Derrick is a hero. He didn't take any credit for the sale of the phone...they told me. The guy also tells the Alltel customer service rep. that the phone is in missing status. I now have cell service to a phone that only God himself knows where it is. I don't know where to go from here.

They don't really seem to want to do anything. He says we have to look up your contract. There is no contract I told him, I didn't sign up for service, so how is there a contract? He goes if you signed anything then you are gonna pay for the phone. I did not sign anything, but what do I do? It seems to me that they are running some sort of a scam. The manager was so rude to me. When he found out that I work for a Verizon dealer he started in on me about how much better they were than we are and he had me in tears. I want something done with this. Please let me know what to do or where to go from here?

This is such an awful thing to happen. I see it nearly everyday. I am a customer service rep with alltel wireless. I work in the Manhattan Kansas Call center. As soon as this happend, it shold have been taken care of that day end of story, because alletl allows authorized agents or dealers to sell alltel serivce this will always happen, these dealers do not care about people, only the fact they got a commison off of it. Alltel does have a fraud department that could have taken care of this lady in 1 day and that dealer would have no longer been in contract with alltel to sell service. The problem that I have working there is that you will NEVER get the same person twice. You call in and state you issue, that person promises it will be fixed and you go on with your life. you find out it is not fixed and you have to call in again and get a diffrent person and explain it all again. Everday i deal with alltel calls "First Call Resoultion" issues. meaning the customers problem was not fixed the 1st time they called and had to call back. about 50% of the 80 calls I take everyday are due to this. I have come up with my own reaons. 1. alltel has a very high turnover rate in the customer service department, i could tell you why that is but it would take a novel. 2. too many many employees!! when you have so many people it is impossible to not have issues like this from happening, that is the most stressful part of my job. Hope this will help some!!
