Amigo Energy 52% rate increase after fixed rate expired - no warning Houston Texas

We had a 1 year (or so i thought) plan for a fixed rate of .1164/kw hr. What they do not tell you is that what you think are 12 months or a 1 year period are 12 payment periods. The 1st month will have 2 billings. What this means is that you think you have another month before you look for another provider but you don't.

So... unexpectedly they charge you a variable rate that is "FAR" about the market value compared to TXU, or ANY OTHER PROVIDER OFFERED through the state of texas. (((link redacted)))


READ THIS:
They went from 11.64 -> 24.19 variable without warning. That rate is higher then "any other" electric providers. I believe their business model is competitive for 1 year, then they deliberately and with intent jack the 3 months after the "plan" expires to an absurdly high rate to make a better profit. WARNING these guys are rip off and deliberately deceive customers.
