My supervisor had a prepaid Amtrak from Philadelphia to NY round trip.  Upon trying to return from NY, he was told that his ticket had been used.  The conductor said he would either have to exit the train or purchase a new ticket.  He is an Amtrak rewards member!!!!!  I contacted Customer Service and the Refunds Department - neither helped me.  They insisted that he used the ticket previously even though the train that it was used on was from Harrisburg to NY, a place where he never travels.  Amtrak allowed someone to use his nam and his ticket without checking ID.  Amtrak expects us to pay for their screw-up.  They justify it by continuing to insist he used the ticket.  They are cheap, dirty liars.
