I contracted with Appliance Doctor to perform work on my washing machine in December 2011.  My washing machine was having a problem that caused water to fill my mudroom.  Appliance Doctor came out twice, first to determine the problem, and a second time to replace a part.  This caused me to miss two days of work to meet with their repairman.  Around this same time I had a pipe burst in a separate section of my home and had to temporarily move out of my home while substantial repairs were being performed (I am pregnant and could not be around the fumes generated by the work being performed).  I moved back to my home in this past week and attempted to use the washing machine for the first time yesterday.  When I tried to use it the same problem occurred.  When I came to get the laundry out of the machine I found a huge mess - my mudroom had filled with water again.  I called Appliance Dotor again today to request that they come out to correctly fix the problem, since they did not fix the problem the first time.  I was told I would need to pay for another service visit, even though the first visit resulted in no repair actually being performed for the issue I complained about.  I explained that I had not been in my home for several months and this was the first time I had used the machine since their repair, and that their repair did not fix the problem, and they did not care.   I am really disappointed in their response to this situation.   This company obvsiously does not stand behind its work and will not take steps to fix inferior work it performs.

I really hate to see these type of complaints. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we were literally unable to satisfy this customer in any reasonable way. She had a significant plumbuing issue in her home around the same time she had us out for an appliance problem. This brought her an unusual set of circumstances.

First point: We ABSOLUTELY stand behind our work, 100%! But, that doesn't mean forever. We repair mechanical and electronic devices and these machines will break down, potentially every several years. it is a 100% certainty that they will eventually fail. Any time a customer has us perform a repair, we offer a 90 day warranty on anything we do and on any parts we install. We will ALWAYS, with reason, extend our warranty as a courtesy if a customer is just outside of that time frame. We are not required to do this, but we believe in doing what is right.

I remember this customer and remember this issue. We offered the customer to come out and take a look at her issue if she agreed to pay our service call fee. It was several months out of warranty. She explained to us her situation and wanted us to extend her warranty 100% due to her circumstances. We agreed that if the issue was related to our repair, we would honor it 100% under warranty, but in the event that her issue was unrelated to our repair, she would have to pay a service call fee. She never really gave us a chance to determine what was going on.

That said, we offered to work with her in a reasonable way so that we can find a good resolution for her, but she refused all reasonable offers. We don't ever "shut the door" in the face of our customers. We only ask that you have realistic expectations so that we have a shot at meeting them for you.
