As you may know, there is mobile messenging on many phones offered by certain wireless phone companies. The problem that I am having is being billed for text messages I send. When i called the phone company (ATT)... they said that I was making text messages through my phone, which I wasn't. I have been making text messages through my computer, and some how, the phone company records these text messages as charges on my phones, and I complained to relieve the charges... but they do nothing about it.

Then i thought it could have been a software glitch, but I did look at the factors. Being simutaniously logged into a Screenname from two different locations was the problem causer. But I cannot do anything about the charges, so need to find help, or at least a reason they should credit my account for text messages i had not sent from my phone. Their response was completely out of hand - "You were logged into AIM through the internet, meaning You were using your cellphone as a computer. So therefore, you were making your textmessages through your cellphone."... My response was "THATS TOTAL BULLS***!" So please, anyone, help me find a resolution to this problem?

#1 UPDATE EX-employee responds

technicality billing practices of ATT are BAD.

AUTHOR: Fariz - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, March 14, 2005

Hello. I used to work for ATT WS as a technician, quit ATT for relocation purpose. I do not like ATT, but must give credit - they are better in technical aspect then competion - my phone was working in places where other carriers failed to keep a signal, both domestically and internationally. However, billing practices of ATT are BAD. In your case though, they will bill for any TM that is gone via SIM card, regadless if is done over the phone by simple TM or Instant Messaging, or by using the SIM card in a PC card.

In PC cad situation, you have 2 options: TM via Communication manager (charged as TM @ $0.10), or TM from ATT text messaging site, no charge for TM, but data usage for internet connection. You can only hope for a nice customer service rep that will remove the charges purely out of sympathy. chances are slim - charges are probably valid and the ATT billing policy may not allow for adjustment.
