So here is the story, Bally total fitness in my area had some big promotion going on a couple years back and I went in there to just see what it was about and before I knew it I was sitting in the office and signing papers because what I was told sounded like a great opportunity but little did I know that they were going go sideways on their end of the contract.

First of all there policy is put $25 down to begin my membership but at that time all I had on me was 15 so the manager at the time said that I could put the 15 donw and next time I come in to bring the other amount to begin my membership. But at the end of our conversation this guy had told me that he had my membership already started and I could just bring in the money anytime I come back.

So he did his whole salemen thing and I like a dummy thought it all sounded good but at the same time was thinking I just wanted to say no to this whole thing because it was also sounding like a scam after saying I couldn't start til I brought in the rest of the money then saying I was already started but they had about 3 or 4 different people in that room all talking to me at once and it was making it a kind of scary enviroment that I really didnt want to say never mind but anyways I get home and read over my contract and see that on the bottom part above where I signed he put that I did put $25 down when I know I only had $15 on me.

So that right there showed me that this company was about trickery and trying to scam me. So the very next day I went back to cancel my membership and I talk to a guy who says I cant after I already signed the papers but here the thing the day before the manager said I could anytime in my 30 day trial period decide I want to cancel and they would cancel it no questions asked.

Now I was angry and a few weeks later I gete a letter in the mail saying I am late on a payment and they want there money, mind you I have never went there a single day or worked out at all there and they want money for a service I never used at all. So I called up and spoke to the manager for about a half hour explaing the situation and what he said next shocked me becuase he admitted to saying that he said come back at anytime to cnacel no question asked but said I would have a hard time proving that he said that.

I was so furious and wish I had that on tape because now I have a collection company suing me almost 2 grand of money that I shouldn't have to pay and it is now on my credit and I have no clue what to do but pay it. My problem is 2 grand is alot of money to pay to a company that has not earned it or I have not used, purchased or did anything to have to pay them a single cent. I am in between a rock and a hard place and have no clue what to do.
