Bally Total Fitness Will not honor cancellation: Will not let me cancel after 1 visit, now wants $1600 Norwalk California

This is the communication (after 1 visit):
I want to cancel my membership
I was verbally harassed at your gym and do not feel comfortable going back
I would like to cancel immediately

This was the response:

In accordance with the terms of the Promise Program, during the first 60 days of your membership, you must take our New Member First Workout that gives you an orientation and counseling from a Bally Personal Trainer at no additional charge; and you must visit the club 16 more days to take advantage of the facilities and benefits of the program your trainer recommended.

Our records indicate that your New Member First Workout was never redeemed. Additionally, the club was visited only once during your first 60 days of membership. Therefore, you have not met the requirements as outlined and your request to cancel your membership is respectfully denied.
