I took my 1 1/2 year old to Banfield for a routine checkup. He was up to date with all of his shots.  During my visit, I was pressured into leaving my cat for what the staff said would be a comprehensive check-up. I've never left an animal just to be examined and questioned this. The assistant said that it could take an hour or so to examine my cat. I never heard of such a thing and refused to leave my pet.  I wanted to be present during the examination. I was taken to one of the examination rooms and Doctor Sobowale came in. My cat's temperature was taken and it was normal, he was tested for worms-none present. When this fraud looked into my cats ears he immediatedly claimed that my cat had a very bad ear infection. However, my cat had no symptoms whatsover. The fraud told me that cat's didn't complain and I wouldn't know. This made absolutely no sense. Next the fraud looked at my cats teeth and said he had peridontal disease. NO WAY! He said to save money, I would need to enroll in the PREMIUM Wellness plan which cost $300 . The So called comprehensive exam took no more than 5 minutes. I did not reflect upon this until I got home, since I was so upset about my cat's diagnosis. The fraudulent vet gave my cat an antibiotic injection( but who knows what actually was in the syringe), several medications for the ear and told me to return a week later for teeth cleaning. The cost of the medicine plus the plan totalled 451.00.

When I got home, I had time to reflect and was extremely suspicious of  my cat's diagnosis. The cat had not shown signs of any ear problems. He was eating, playing and acting as he had always done. I made an appt with a reputable vet the next day to find out the truth.

My suspicions were correct. The legitimate vet, said my cat's ears were absolutely clear and healthy. I insisted that she take a culture for proof. She did and the culture was negative.  She examined my cats teeth, which she said were very healthy. She was appalled, as I was , of the fraud that took place at Banfield. She strongly suggested that I report the issue to Veternarian Medical Board, which I did.

After the visit, I took the proof and went to Banfield to confront Dr. Sobowale. I was so livid and gave him the riot act. I told every patient what had happened. A few left, refusing to ever come back again. Dr. Sobowale, tried to lie over his lies. He tried to take me into one of the examinations rooms to silence my anger but I refused. He threatened to call the police. I said, give me the phone. I'll call them for you. I would not budge and continued to approach every patient that sat down.

To make a long story short I was given my money back but the money was not the issue. If I was scammed, so was everyone that ever took their pet to Banfield. Banfield is a criminal operation and is no differrent than Wall Streets corruption. The

My experience is not an isolated incident from a specific clinic or Banfield veternarian. Since my horrible experience, I have spoken to a number of people that had  similar experiences with Banfield.

The entire operation is a scam from the corporate heads down to the staff. Banfield preys on pet owners emotions and their pocketbooks. The doctors and staff are told to use pressure sale tactics to sell their OPTIMUM Wellness plan that is worthless. Doctors get a commission on the procedure costs and selling the Wellness plan. They lie about your pets health and fraudulently diagnosis illnesses.

How Banfield remains in operation is incredible. You would think that the Veternarian Medical Board along with the FBI and other agencies would have them shut down. I guess the pervasion of fraud in this society is so overwhelming that there is not enough manpower to investigate, arrest and convict.

I wish I was Dexter!!!! I would have no problem in ridding society of every last one of the frauds.
