I bought a car from these people a 2000 sable. and I have taken back for repairs. thinking that they did everything they said they did. i left the shop with the car and a couple of months later i was having some problems since the car was not under warrenty anymore i took it to get fixed. and i was told they did everything they should have but they never greased the joints on the front end side they worked on.

when i called them about this they said that's not our problem have it fixed. and the airbag light was on while under warrenty and i told them. just so happens when i got there it went out so they said there was nothing they could do. it never came on agian till it ran off the warrenty and they said it was not there problem. cheap company just wants to rip people off

I took the car to a guy who worked with ford for many years for some maint. and he said the air bag light was one because someone had removed the airbag and placed news paper in it's place. the car did get taken away because i was behind on payments and caught up and got it back. they came with a flatbed and just raised the front wheels off the ground because there was a truck on the bed. when i went back to get the car i had a towing company put it on the flatbed and drive it to my macanic. the driver said he noticed that the rear wheels where locked up when he picked it up and they just drove it from where it was to his truck with the back wheels dragging. my macanic said that the front strauts had to be replaced because either it was stripped down to tight from being on the back of the truck or someone had hit a very large hole doing 65 mph. and from his years working on cars he said the break happened 1 week ago due to there was not much rust or dirt around the break. so i had to pay to get that fixed and Perian said i had to take it up with the towing company and the towing company said i had to take it up with PAC so i just paid to have it fixed..... These people need to hang it up. i know other people that have brought cars and had problems even one person called the state police and complain that the truck had a fresh inspection sticker when the rear shock shackles where bent over. What a shame these people CANNOT run an honest buss.

Bangor Car Care (Lewiston Lot ) NOT

AUTHOR: Maineconsumer0829 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 27, 2008

I feel the pain of ANYONE who has purchased a car from ANY of the Bangor Car Care dealerships and gone through what these fine people have here. There are far many others who don't know about this great web page that haven't posted comments, but trust me im sure they DO exist with similar horror stories. There are THREE dealerships that operate under the one banner. Bangor, Lewiston, and Westbrook Car Care. These are all in Maine.

Here's my story:

Purchased a Ford Sedan in September. First day i got it a WHEEL BARING went. Called the next day (it was after hours when it started making a rackett) and they assured me theye'd fix it. Oh they "fixed it" alright, with another one that was just as bad. On top of that by the time i got it to a local repair shop ( my 30 day/ 1000 mile warrenty was gone i had gone over 1000 miles) the mechanic showed me the well worn wheel baring and also showed me how the wheel baring ruined the hub.

So now i was looking at $500.00 to fix it. That was at the initial estimate. The technician then pointed out to me some badly worn BALL JOINTS and TIE RODS on BOTH SIDES. He told me it should have NEVER had an inspection sticker on it. I had him put it back together, paid a nominal disgnostic fee, and had a friend go with me to drop the hideous dangerous illegaly stickered wreck back to the graveyard it belonged (Lewiston Car Care). Left them a note with the keys and called the finance company the next day to inform them i had surrendered all rights to the vehicle.

Now, let's talk about thier partner in crime..a place in Peabody, Mass called "Persian Financial". This is the company that they advertise will "approve anyone". This so called "bank" charges un believable interest rates (mine was 17%) and claims all you need is a checking account, licence and a job you have had at least three months (i believe). I had a bad spell where i missed two weeks payments (debited directly from my checking account) and they called one of my references looking for me. My friend told the guy on the phone she wasn't aware of where i was and he called her back several times pretty much saying he knew she was hiding me and that was in turn helping me hide the car. This, or course, wasn't the case. She finally got to the point where she changd her cell phone number (i paid her for the number change fee).

Bottom line folks is this. you are buying a junk box that has been overly cleaned and waxed. It will decieve you in this regard. Underneath the shiney exterior and sweet smelling interior is an unsafe vehicle ready to cause you porblems. Your best bet is to buy a clunker a few years old that has no payment and put a few dollars in it here and there. That is what you're doing here, but add a montly payment onto the monthly repairs.

Before you buy a vehicle at any of these lots i beg you. beware!

The car has been fixed and i do have money to fix the car. but the fact does remain that i stated the air bag light was on.. under maine law the company should have been held for the light under the STATE inp. warrenty.. but like i said the car was fixed...

Depending on the current problem of the car, Bangor may be responsible. The consumer is stating Bangor didn't properly repair the car, causing the current problem. Not to mention, Bangor was notified that the airbag light was on, and it wasn't fixed, during the warranty period. From what I've gathered from the consumer, this truly is a ripoff, which is actually pretty rare on this site.

If that is the case, Bangor should own up or they deserve a bad name.

Warrenty

I disagree with this post. Bangor Car Care offers quality used vehicles at a fraction of the cost of its competitors. Many customers do not take the time to read their warranty paperwork and are often unaware of their coverages. Once the vehicle's warranty has expired, Bangor Car Care (or any other dealer for that matter) is under no obligation to fix the vehicle. These cars sold are not leased. The customers are made aware of their obligations to the vehicle in plain english on a Service Agreement form of which they sign at the time of sale. Nobody should purchase a vehicle they cannot afford to fix.
