I bought a 2000 Chevy Impala 152,000 on 12-20-10 less than 24hrs later the trans. the engine light the fuel gauge all acted up the car back fires at 50 miles an hour and stalls out on busy rd. I call the company they want me to tow it and pay repairs because there is no warranty this is out of this world how can they rip people off knowing they have no other resources and depend on these running cars. There must be laws that I need to learn about because this is ripping people off legally and that is unacceptable to me, I could have been killed there was 18 wheeler over sized that almost hit my driver side door and they left me on the side of the road unwilling to help resolve the matter no attempt to even try to fix it or concern for me or my safety.
I strongly urge people to find other ways of finding affordable transportation.

"how can they rip people off knowing they have no other resources and depend on these running cars."
They can do this because people are willing to buy 10 yr. old, high mileage cars without doing the bare minimum to verify that the car is in good shape. A pre-purchase visit to a trusted mechanic is the very least you should do.
You bought the car "as is" (which is how the majority of used cars are sold). That means you accepted whatever condition the vehicle was in at the time of sale. If you don't actually know what the condition is, you're just rolling the dice with your money.

1) close the door
2) read what you signed.."as is" means "as is."
