I used ATM machine to deduct $500 from credit card. The machine stalled,I thought it wasn't going to give my credit card back, a note appeared on atm claiming trouble, said see bank location inside store, take reciept and money. I recieved a reciept deducting $500 & $2.00(fee charge) from credit card but "no money". Went inside to complain but a bank rep wouldn't help. Said machine is run by someone else and they can't help me? Bank rep gave me # to atm company. Atm company referred me back to bank's 1-800#....

I went back to bank of America location to demand help and found an atm rep fixing atm machine. He said he was sent to fix machine due to money jam problem! I have his name and id#, time, etc., He said within 24-48hours money will be credited to my credit card. I never went back to bank cause I assumed by this info that it would be sorted out within 48hours.

I filed a faulty claim with my credit card company (wired plastic) immediatly after atm machine problem but money was taken out already, they said they would investigate. A credit of $500 was reflected on my account but taken back out in same hour? Filed 2nd complain form with credit card company but informed with in 6weeks that Bank of America claims I recieved money and they owe nothing.

I went back to bank location but was referred back to my credit card co. They have refused to help me at Bank of America.

ATM Fraud

AUTHOR: Glenn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 26, 2005

The camera's may not show everything but the ATM alerted the service company that the money was jammed. The manager is well aware that this problem existed as he must have signed off on the repair form. If the ATM balanced that night, it's only because someone took advantage of a vunerable situation and pocketed my $500.00. I am prepared to take a lie detector test, stand before a judge, be questioned by any investigators to prove that I have been ripped off by this BOA. They have shown no concern for my problem and keep telling me that they can't help me because I have no account with them. They have not been forthcoming in any information I have requested to help me solve this problem.

The videotape won't show anything

AUTHOR: Stile - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 26, 2005

The cameras at the ATMs only have a very limited field of vision. If they were able to see the money drawer, then they would also be able to see you entering the PIN. The cameras generally shoot from the neck up only, and they are usually recycled at least once a week.

Your best bet is to contact the credit card claims department and ask what the status of your claim is. The only reason they would deny the claim is if the ATM was in balance for the day (meaning the amount of money left in the machine matches the transactions keyed into the ATM). Hopefully they'll be able to find a discrepancy in the ATM receipt records and refund your money.

ATM Fraud

AUTHOR: Glenn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 26, 2005

I have asked the Bank of America for information on how to go about reviewing the ATM video recording taken during my transaction but because I am not a customer with an account at BOA everyone I speak to tells me they can't help me, they don't know where to refer me? I did mention this video tape in a dispute letter written to BOA and to my credit card company. Everyone keeps referring me back to the other person. What do You do when this happens? A lawyer wants $150-$225 an hour to help me.

Ask for the tape

AUTHOR: Dave - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, October 26, 2005

They have cameras at all ATM locations. Demand that BOA show you the tape from the transaction. Also, file a police report against BOA.

Let's go to the videotape!

All those transactions are videotaped. Ask for the tape that will show you didn't get the money.
