My ordeal with Calvary started nearly a year ago whe I received a letter stating they were trying to collect on a debt for Wells Fargo Bank. I called Calvary and obtained the Wells Fargo account number. The person I spoke to on the phone was quite cordial and told me the money was owed on an auto loan taken out in my name in 1989. I told the gentleman that I never had an auto loan through Wells Fargo/First Security Bank during that time. I called the local Wells Fargo office and told them my story. They checked their records and could not find ANY loan in my name during that time...PERIOD.

I call Calvary back and told them what I found. The gentleman on the phone told me the loan was so old and out of statute that they would just take care of it and I shouldn't worry about it anymore. I received a few more leters from Calvary and I called them one more time stating that the loan wasn't mine and to quit sending letters. They said they would take care of it.

On 3/21/05 I receive a letter from Tate & Kirlin Associates saying they were collecting payment on an account that was delinquent with Calvary. I called the 800 number for Tate & Kirlin Asociates and spoke to a rep and told them the WHOLE story again. They rep told me that the amount of money was origianlly owed to MASTERCARD. I told them Calvary told me it was to Wells Fargo for an auto loan..which I never had..and that I never had a Mastercard during the time the amount was incurred. They said they would write it up as a verbal dispute. I told them I didn't want it to be a verbal dispute, that I wanted the account closed and never to hear from them or Calvary again....period.

I told them i was going to file a complaint with the FTC AND the Idaho State Attorney Generals office to get to the bottom of this. Thye said they would refer the case back to Calvary. I would be interested in a class action lawsuit to stop this company from doing what seems to be a pattern of fraud and intimidation.
