Capital Management Services Lp Trying To Scam People Tried to convince me that an acct. was mine from 15 yrs ago Buffalo New York

I received a letter the other day from Capital mgmt Services stating that I owed $232.35 from an old Niagara Mohawk Electric bill from over 15 years ago. I told them it wasn't mine and that I had no open accts. with Niagara Mohawk for over 15 years. They proceeded to try to get info on me, they had nothing on me but somehow found the address of a new house that I just purchased but am renovating and not living in as of yet.

They said instead of paying the full amount they would take $69.71 right then but it was a one time offer. I told them I wasn't paying anything no matter how small the amount became because it wasn't even my bill. I went back through OLD credit reports and found the bill they were referring to and it was on my credit report as being paid in full and the acct. closed. They threatened my credit, which is around 800 I have perfect credit, I have bought 5 houses in the past 15 years and if I owe anything I pay it in full.

This is a scam and they must have purchased some old database with misinformation and are now harassing people to try to make a buck. They couldn't even tell me where the acct. that I once had originated from, they try hard to get all the info they can by fishing. Don't listen to them, just tell them to stop harassing you and hang up. Call by a cell phone to avoid them getting any of your phone numbers.
