Colonial Van Lines Route 66 Van Lines Breach of contract Margate Florida

I contracted with Colonial Van lines to move some furniture and personal property from a vacation home we owned in Cape Charles, Virgionia to a storage facility in Abingdon, Maryland. They were supposed to pick up the furiture and personal property after packing it on 1/2 or 1/3. We had an agreed price of $2876.05 with a binding deposit of $1005.23 the balance was to be paid at delivery. We were supposed to get a phone call 24-48 hours prior to pick up from the "driver", we did not get a call until 930 AM on the morning of the 3rd and was informed that they would be there about 3PM. The driver identified himself as a subcontractor for Colonial and state his companby was called route 66 van lines. When he arrived in a rentalk Pinske he said in a heavy Russian accent that he had to write up a new contract beteen us and his company for $6000 cash or he would not move our property. He claimed that we had a lot of fragile and expensive things that had to be specially wrapped. I told him we had a contract with Colonial and he had to live up to it if he was to move our stuff. He refused to do anything without a new contract and immediate payment. I told him to contact colonial, he refused, I tried to contact Colonial and they were closed. He left.

I will contact colonial tomorrow for either a refund of the deposit plus damages or they will do the move as contracted.
