The company advertises street legal Star carts for sale with speeds at least 25 MPH and a 2 year warranty. I bought what was sold as a 6 place limo Star cart at the Orange County Swap Meet and was told the car would be delivered and detailed that evening. The cart showed up late, in the dark and still had plastic wrap all over it. The cart cannot be licensed as a LSV because it will not do faster than 18 MPH and there are other safety items lacking. They have an independent who registers them with no inspection. It is way too slow to operate safely on the streets legally. They said it would go 25 to 30 MPH and can be driven on all roads posted 35 MPH or less, but it only does 18. After 4 days they sent a technician to reprogram the controller. The technician tried to reprogram the cart 3 times and it would not go faster. As it turns out, the cart is not the STAR 6 place limo, it is a 4 place cart that ECW modified to carry six and the Star cart was delivered with the low speed rear end and not the one they advertise (high speed with a 10:1 gear ratio). They said if I paid another $1300 they would put bigger wheels on it and get it to go over 20 MPH. I called at least a dozen times to speak with the owner, Jolene M. Juse and nobody will call back. They no longer answere the phone when they know I am calling. Good luck to anybody who buys from them and needs servicing on the 2 year warranty. I now have a cart that is collecting dust and can't be used on the street safely.

Electric Cart Warehouse, Inc Electric Cart Warehouse even lies in court Costa Mesa California

AUTHOR: Ultimate engineering - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 27, 2009

This is an update from an earlier report I filed about the purchase of a 6 place "street legal" cart from ECW placed 9/12/08. After my last report, they agreed to install the high speed rear end to make the vehicle at least speed compliant for the street. Instead, they brought the cart back and only tried to increase the controller settings and the cart did not go faster than 20 MPH. They also took out the 6 new Trojan batteries and substituted 6 Interstate batteries that were 33 months old. This is in a brand new cart with not 45 minutes of driving.
They also installed a useless stereo for $500 that only works if the cart is off. Once the key is on you only get static. They have refused all my calls and refused two certified letters. Today we had a small claims hearing and David Paige, Kathrine (Kat) and another who supposedly is the head of sales. They each lied through there teeth to the judge saying I have only called them once in the past 3 months and that they called me 20 times. They said they didn't send a tech to my office an try to reprogram the controller for more speed, they said I never even contacted them for a month after purchase (I sent 4 letters, about 36 phone calls and even confronted the owner in their office all within the first 3 weeks). There lies were so numerous it is actually rediculous.
I found another site about David Paige entitled "Scum in Costa Mesa" concerning ECW Manager David Paige placing multiple ads of other peoples vehicles and trying to sell them on ebay.http://www.4dsonly.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1222738275. Its a Ford Think site and you have to scroll to the bottom where it references Scum in Costa Mesa.
The small claims hearing was rushed and I wasn't able to get out everything in the time before the judge was overwhelmed. I just hope the judge reads everything I gave her. This is David Paiges (ECW Manager)cell phone 949-836-6832. To sum it up, they have no shame and are all similar in nature and will lie under oath. LET THE BUYER BEWARE. I will up date again after I get the ruling.
