This company sent me a pre-approved credit card notice, highlighting their low 9.9% annual interest rate. I have already begun rebuilding my credit score with smart, practical moves like refinancing my home and buying a new automobile. I thought I would go ahead and apply for this low interest card to further build up my credit. BAD DECISION! During the activation process I asked all the right questions, including if there were any hidden fees and the answer was no. Two weeks after activating the card I received my first statement. I was given a ridiculously low $325.00 credit limit with a $179.00 balance due. I haven't even used the card! WTF! was my obvious reaction. I've been caught in a web of deceit and I should have known better. Needless to say I called First Premier immediately and sprinkled between a few choice words I ordered that they cancel my card and strike all pending charges because I had not knowingly signed up for this Bullsh*t! If you are in the process of rebuilding your credit; please toss in the trash bin all pre-approved credit cards not named American Express. Save yourself the headache that I will no doubt have to experience as I battle with this fraudulent company's attempt to extort $179 from me.

You asked if there were any HIDDEN fees. Their fees are NOT hidden. They are right up front on the disclosure statement you received with the offer. If you truly want to rebuild your credit, there are better ways and cards to do it with. However, you MUST read the terms this includes not only the interest rate but the section on fees.
By the way you will see several RipOff reports on American Express, and if your credit is bad enough to need rebuilding it is very unlikely that you would get approved by them anyways. You may get an "offer" in the mail, but when they do the full credit check you would probably get declined.
