Gerald E Moore & Associates This company attempted to collect a balance that I owed with Household Credit for a credit card. They have collected $450 from my bank account. Marietta Georgia

The Law Office of Gerald E Moore & Associates have been collecting money from me for the past 6 months for a claim that they says was given to them by Household Credit Services. They made several harrassing and threatening phone calls to my job to garnish my wages. I never received anything in writing from this company until they started sending me letters of reminders of debits from my bank account. I was intimidated and afraid and set up payment arrangements with this company giving them my banking information.

I have recently made several attempts to contact them to settle my debt but was given the run around with bad contact numbers, no answers, no return phone calls, and rudeness when I did reach a representative. I finally received a return phone call on today from a Paul Stump identifying himself as a collections supervisor after sending a fax to them requesting a return phone call. When I told him that I was calling to pay the settlement, he could not locate my account as the other representatives could not either. They asked for my social security number and then they were able to locate it. Mr. Stump became very irrate because I told him that I was paying only the agreed settlement amount that was discussed less than a month ago. He yelled and screamed on the phone saying that the company made changes and the previous representative Rose St Pierre no longer worked on my account.

I had to hang up the phone because of his yelling and threatening language. I attempted to call back and kept getting a voicemail. I then contacted an attorney and the attorney instructed me to contact consumer crediting services. I then had to google this company to get the physical address. As I googled this company a long list of fraud alerts popped up. I then decided to file a complaint. I would like to get my money refunded to me. I have my bank records, copies of recent reminders from Gerald E Moore & Associates, and copies of the faxes with confirmations.
