My 81 year old mother went to Germain Toyota to drop off my car for routine maintenance. She was told it needed a whole new A/C system but that it was covered under the extended warranty that was purchased on the car. When she went back to pick up my car the service person led her to believe the car had been recalled or was otherwise unsuitable for me & since she had purchased it for me, she should talk to the finance manager. After being swept off her feet & into a brand new 2009 Toyota Camry she was convinced & manipulated into believing that she could bring the new car to me to look at, if I didn't like it or she changed her mind she could bring it back. But the papers she was talked into signing were a 3 year lease. We both decided even though the car was wonderful it was much to expensive for us.

When she tried to return the car within 12 hrs of taking it she was told they would not take it back & that my 2006 Corolla was no longer available. My mother & I were very concerned because we didn't think we could afford to keep the car so I called the General Manager only to be told "a sale is a sale" and then she hung up on me. My mother has had to go back to work & I have had to take a 2nd job working 14 hrs a day 7 days a week so we can make the payments.

My mother has been verbally abused & humiliated by the sales people at this location. DON'T LET ANYONE YOU CARE ABOUT GO TO ANY GERMAIN LOCATION OR THEY'LL BE TREATED THE SAME!!

'Google' this- ENGINE SLUDGE, and go to the consumeraffairs website and read Samuel's complaint that was posted on 07/31/06 regarding the engine in his Toyota Sienna minivan.

That's July 31st 2006, okay?

(Not 2009. Not 2008. Not even 2007. Samuel's complaint was posted on 7/31/2006!)

Simply scroll through all of the complaints about Toyota engines and read Samuel's complaint. Samuel is from Anaheim, CA.

*Once again, please read Samuel of Anaheim, CA (07/31/06) complaint at the consumeraffairs website. You can 'Google' this- ENGINE SLUDGE, and that will get you to the site, okay?

P.S. Don't forget to click on- 'Airbags' when you are at that site and read all of the complaints from Toyota owners whose airbags did NOT deploy when they were in accidents.

Thank You

This is a standard practice. I am sure if you look at your lease you will find you have paid too much for your camry. The service dept advises sales personnel of potential easy prey. There is so much fraud and dishonesty at this dealership. I have never seen anything in 25 years of being in the business quite like this operation. This dealership tells customers their trades have been sold when they have not and etc. I have seen them lie to the state in investigations in the past. There is nothing they will stop at to make a sale.

Jackie, If what you say is true, and I do believe you, then you need to........

contact your Local News Stations IMMEDIATELY about this & give them ALL OF YOUR DOCUMENTS that your mother signed!

Believe it or not, the LEGAL SYSTEM in the USA will side with the DEALERSHIP because it's a- 'he said- she said' situation, and the fact that your mother SIGNED the contract, you'll LOSE!

This is a tactic that Toyota, & their Dealer Network, use on the elderly, the lesser educated, & minorities! Some people in the media won't even help because Toyota spends so much money with them in advertising!!!

Even the LEGAL SYSTEM in the USA will side with Toyota because Toyota spends so much money with the Law Firms in the USA!

Your best bet is to get the MEDIA involved, & EXPOSE them on TV. There might be a News Station that'll do your story. You can even try contacting Deborah Sherman at 9NEWS in Denver. Their website is www.9news.com

9NEWS in Denver EXPOSED Toyota on TV on 5-18-2005 at 10 PM. It was the 3rd part of a '3 Part Series' that EXPOSED Car Dealerships in Denver. Toyota was TARGETTING Hispanics, and putting them into leases. You can go to www.9news.com and type in- ORNELAS, and the story might still be there. It made the FRONT PAGE of the Denver Post Newspaper on 5-19-2005!!!!!

She may be able to get a Local News Station in Florida to help you. It's worth a try! Who knows, maybe it'll work?

Going to your Attorney General is a good idea, but it'll take too long to get any action. What they did was WRONG, but it wasn't 'against the law', according to most lawyers & judges. You see, the LAWS in the USA were written to PROTECT dealerships like Germain Toyota, & others.

EXPOSE THEM ON T.V.!!!!!

EXPOSE THEM ALL OVER THE WORLDWIDE WEB!!!!!

Send your story to BusinessWeek.com

Send it to CNNMoney.com

Send it to Oprah.com

Send it to EVERYONE you can think of!!!!!!!

DON'T GIVE-UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Jackie DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT drop this!!!

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, February 22, 2009

Jackie:

What you have here is a CLEAR CUT example of exactly what you said...taking advantage of a senior citizen.

I urge you...I implore you...I strongly encourage you to contact the Florida Attorney General's Office about this.

A car FLEASE is very, very profitable to the dealer. Because of this, the incidents of fraud and deception involving car FLEASES is very high. Those who perpetrate this crime look for senior citizens, women and first time buyers as easy marks. Welcome to the sleazy car business.

Notice I said contact the A/G. You didn't mention it but you can forget about the BBB. The BBB doesn't care about you. The BBB's FIRST concern is to collect money from businesses who buy "accredidation" without regard to their business practices.

So Jackie, let me again say, park the car, don't use it and contact the Florida Attorney General's Office. The numbers are 866-966-7226 or 850-414-3990.
Do this AT ONCE.

DO NOT LET THIS DROP, Jackie!

You should be COMMENDED for your concern and care for a senior citzen.

Please, DO NOT LET THIS DROP!!!!
