When, for example..Home Depot or Menard's qualify me for a 'cash only' purchase for a promo time, I pay NOTHING 'til that promo's expiration date. Not so with the 'promo product' I was offered at Best Buy . I received my 1st cr. cd. statement since the 'promo purchase' and WOW! in the minimum payment due.box was a bill for $3.27. I was under the impression, because Best Buy had told me ,I need not pay ANYTHING for 24 mos. that meant $0.00. How interesting! If I had not looked at my statement( Best Buy /Household credit card services / HSBC affliate). I could have incurred a Late Charge $35.00 ? That's extremely TRICKY! I will pay off my ENTIRE $$ balance and never deal with Best Buy or any company that uses Household Bank for their credit card customers.

too often

Too often people confuse the 'no payment no itnerest'
IN many cases, you need to pay the amt that will keep it 'no interest'..
such as if you have 24 months no interst....you take the months and divide that into the purchase and pay that amt consisttanlty, period.
Anything else than this, is your own fault and your own lack of chking and watching your bills.
Its a shame...the nointerst/24mhts or similar can very well be the most expensive purchas one makes if they dont pay it before the promo expires.
Its surprises me so much that people ignore that and dont automate the bill so that it will be paid before expire.

#3 UPDATE Employee
Financing

Best Buy's financing offers are 3, 6, 12, 18, and 24 months at no interest. No interest and no payments are two totally different things. I have been working for Best Buy for 5 years, and in all that time, I can't think of a single time that Best Buy has ever done "no payment" financing. I think you misunderstood, or perhaps the employee misworded it, but there is no "no payment" financing offered through Best Buy.
Best Buy's financing statement, which was written on the application that YOU filled out, as well as posted on the walls at every Best Buy location, and also on bestbuy.com: "No interest for 12 months. Offer applies on qualifying purchases only. As of 12/07/2005, required minimum monthly payment is greater of $10 or 1% balance plus billed Finance Charges plus any late fees (if applicable). Interest will be charged to your account from the date of purchase if plan balance is not paid in full within 12 months or if minimum monthly payments are not made."

Payment not required but minimum required by law

This complaint is just a lack of reading; don't worry it happens to the best of us.
Thanks to good ol' G.W Bush (sarcasm) several years ago minimum payments have been raised and now are practically required. Only 3-4$/mo? Be thankful. Oh and don't you worry, that lame duck will be gone in TWO days.
You are not required to pay any more than the minimum payment. Have you ever had a credit card before? j/w I am from the Chicagoland area and this is common almost required for all credit or charge cards. Over 24 months $3/mo thats about $75. What are you complaining about? They basically want your commitment to paying for what you charged and not forget about it. If you can find something I can buy, put on a charge card and not pay ANYTHING, not a penny for 24 months, you let me know.
If you couldn't afford $3.27 then I would've suggested you not make your purchase.

Read the fine print.

When you sign any credit card offer, you really need to read the fine print. See if you dont then you do somthing like this, look like you are a total dork. Sorry, but you need to read the fine print. Plus, a min. payment of $3.75 is alot to complain about. I wish all of my credit cards had a min. payment of $3.
