Bought a HP Pavilion Quad Core Computer and also purchased a 3-year HP House call Service Plan. Trying to add extra monitors to the system, system will not work even with the Vista compatible video adapters, called the HP service Dept. explained the problem, they asked If the computer is working and can go on the internet? I told them yes and they said there is no problem with the computer they can not help any more. But if I can not add hardware to the computer it is no good to me. They were very rude and I mean RUDE. Conversation ended.
This I think is a RIPP OFF of customers by a big corporation.

They state in the contract that the extended warrenty doesn't cover after market items.

You should have read the agreement more closley. This is not a rip-off, they stated that the warrenty only covers the base PC. Any additions you make are at your own risk. There are accedent protection plans that cover damage caused by (as expected) accedent and/or ad-ons.

#1 Consumer Suggestion

They have no obligation to fix "aftermarket" upgrades!

The warranty should be very clear that it will only cover the computer as it was sold. You will need to pay for assistance on adding something after the fact.
