If your credit card carries an annual fee:

1) the fee is billed the credit card 12 months in advance.

2) If you close your account 31 days after being billed your annual fee you cannot get a prorated refund for the 11 months you did not use the card.

This is a RipOff! How can they get away with that?

How?

AUTHOR: Ashley - (U.S.A.)

You want to how they can do this? Because they sent you a contract for a credit card and you signed it that you agreed to these terms. If you did not want to agree to this, you should never have signed that you agreed to the terms.

Its not illegal nor is it a ripoff, this company is offering credit cards to people with poor credit. They are a sub-prime lender. If your credit were better you wouldn't have to get credit cards with annual fees.
