In October 2009 I responded to an IT job ad sent me by job.com.  It was an online form.  The form included a section for contact information to be given to various online education sites.  I did not want to supply this information but could not complete the job application without entering information for these fields.  Not wanting to be contacted by phone I supplied a false phone number.  They went the extra mile to look up my correct phone number.  For the next two weeks I was called at least five times per day from online education institutions.  I received no contact about the job I had supposedly applied for or verification that I did indeed apply for it.
