March 13, 2014.

I returned to my "trusted" plumber, John Moore Plumbing (who had just made a $13,000.00 plus repair to my home in February) for a very small leak at the connection of 2 above ground fresh water pipes.  The leak was obvious, easy to get to and an obviously easy fix.  John Moore Plumbing left me an estimate of $3999.98 to replace the water line to the city meter.  I called several times to speak with a Manager.  I was blocked from speaking to a manager and forced into leaving information with the operator. Important information like:  the line had previously been replaced and that the line was not leaking in that 50 feet of line but at the connection above ground.  I was told that my calls had been forwarded to customer care, qualilty control, managers, etc., all of whom were working hard on the complaint.  The operator who was being told to handle the call had confused and inaccruate informaton in her notes so when she assured me that my complaint was being handled she really just assured me that I was being stonewalled.

I just had the repair fixed for $225.00 by another plumber.  The PVC pipe threads were cracked.

Regarding the $13,000.00 repair:  It took me several weeks and threat of legal action to obtain the Engineers report and pictures of the under slab work repairs, part of what I paid for, had been promised in emails, texts and phone conversations.  They did not receive my (homeowner's) authorization that the job was complete, a necessary requirement to fund the job but received funding from the financing company anyway.  I believe the fact that they received their finding made them no longer worried about completing the job by obtaining my signature, and/or providing me with the documents to which I was entitled.

I never make reports like this but this time the attempted rip off was too blatant to ignore.

Beware of John Moore Plumbing!
