Law office of Brett Margolin Do NOT give them your money! Lake Grove, New York

After numerous attempts to get a loan modification from our bank, we chose to work with Brett Margolin, P.C. We looked at many companies, and other lawyers and decided to go with them because of their 100% money back guarantee on their entire retainer that states that "if we are not successful in achieving a modification you will be entitled to a full refund!"

Well after paying the retainer of almost $3000, a year later, we are no better than we were before. In fact, we are worse....with $1000 in late fees on top of that and out the retainer fee as well.

They were not able to get us a loan modification, yet they say we are not entitled to a refund and I am still waiting on the supervisor that makes this decision to call me back. It has been over a month. They did get our bank to put the two payments that we were behind at the end of our loan... so that we are "current." I still have to pay those two payments and the $1000 late fees that were tacked on because it took them almost a year to even get this done. They say that is a loan modification. But, our payment is exactly the same and of course we cannot make it. And furthermore, we are in an ARM and it will go up this year.

Needless to say we will not be current very long as we can not make this payment! So the little they did...it is useless. They really did nothing to help us and the two people that I talked to at this office even admitted that this was not really a "loan modification." The ironic thing is that I would only have been one payment behind if I had not paid them for their so called help...and then there are the $1000 late fees.

If anyone is deciding whether to use them I would think again. They are NO HELP!!!
