My Husband and I filed our taxes with Liberty on Feb 14th, We paid the extra money for them to do the state taxes as well as federal. He is in the army and we were going to be getting $700 back from California for the state taxes. They said it'll be about 8 weeks.
Well it's now 3 months later and we got in touch with the tax people in California and they have NO RECORD of our taxes ever being SUBMITTED.
Liberty has NOT returned phone calls that have been left three times.
In our file we have a paper that states "Your return has been filed electronically. You should not mail your return to your state taxing authority." It is also listed with the amount due to us.
We received our state check from Oregon (where I moved from) just 3 weeks after filing.

Danielle,
I own a different Liberty Tax Service in Richmond, VA but I do know the owner of this particular store. When your tax return is efiled the federal and state returns are usually sent electronically in the same file to IRS and all of the states. I don't know if this is what affected your situation but California ran out of money and has not been paying out refunds for months for the last two years. That could possibly explain the delay with California while you did get the other states.
