I just bought,(lease/purchased), a 2010 International Prostar , from Lone Mountain Truck lease ,in Pacific Junction Ia.I arrived with my trade in truck Feb 25th,but little got done the first day.I was interested in 2 type's of trucks, 2009 pete 387, and 2010 international prostars. I test drove the "only" Pete still available, sloppy clutch, 6 & 7th gears did not split right. So, I tried the Prostar, with Cummins ISX 465,and Eaton Auto 10 speed. I was a bit nervous, because I had never driven an automatic in a class 8 truck, although i have been driving class 8 trucks since 1966. Found i liked the truck, and auto, and decided to do some checking. The truck had belonged to Tyson Foods, Sprigdale,Ar., one of the companies I deliver new trailers to on a regular basis. I phoned the shop manager there, the next morning , giving him their old unit number, and was told, other than a new fan hub, the unit had no major problems, just regular maintainance  since new. So next morning, 2/26, started signing paperwork, .By the end of the day, lease was signed. I had 2 days to get the truck DOT'd and dynoed if I wanted. Declined the Dyno, but had it DOT inspection, at Sapp bros, Council Bluffs, where it passed.

On the return to Pacific Junction, several warning lights, ABS Module, Traction Controll, and the DPF Regen lights appeared. I stopped in , and informed my "sales Rep", who in turn got the maintaince Department supervisor to look at it. They pulled the truck into the shop, maybe an hour. When the young mechanic returned , all lights were out, and he said the were just "Error Codes, and he had "cleared them out of the computer.I then proceed on to Kansas city, on the way home.I stopped in Platte city ,Mo for fuel, and upon leaving, all the same warning re-appeared. I drove to international off I435, N. KC, to have it Diagnosed . After a short test, I was informed the the "REGEN" could not be done , until , all the faults were corrected, and cleared. They could not get me in until the next afternoon. They said it would not damage the engine to drive to Springfield, which could get me in the next morning.

Upon arrival, I noticed the left rear axel, had an inner seal leak, the shop foreman, said that was the likely culprit for the ABS, and Trac Control, and once repaired, would allow the ,Regen to take place. But it would be the next morning before all repairs and tests, and regen could be completed.
I phoned LMTL, and was immidiately transfered, automatically to my account manager, at Cresco capitol. All my calls go automatically to her. I have not been able to speak to anyone at LMTL. I phoned their Platinum Insurance company, who informed me , these type repairs are NOT covered under the Warranty . Some $1451 later, I had to pay, not the warranty. The APU unit was leaking, and I had no way of knowing when it was last serviced, so headed to MHC Carrier Transcold, for service. When the leadman checked the unit, There were 2 of 6 bolts holding the unit in the case, and only 1 holding the AC generator , the oil was over filled by almost a gallon, and the Idler pully was missing it's bolt.Another $801.

I tried ,in vain to contact my sales rep, and Joe the General Manager. So, I sent Joe a detailed email, surprise, no answer as well. The term, AS IS, Where Is, on the lease agreement , should have told me something from the start. But the need for a newer truck, to stay in business, and in compliance for California, blinded me.

I strongly urge anyone thinking of buying from the people to do the do diligence before signing anything. If they will not allow you to take it to a dealership ,"before signing the lease, LEAVE.
Some $2300, plus 2 nights motel, and meals later, I am very disappointed in LMTL. I agreed to pay for this truck, and will swallow the bullet, I just hope someone else does not get duped.
