I went to Lone Mountain to buy a truck, and put down $4200 down payment.I was taken for a road test and the truck warning light indicated the engine coolant level was critically law,the clutch was very stiff, and cabinets were ruttling off the hinges. The truck is a volvo 670   08 model.  There was no diesel in the truck and we did not go far, which I now believe is by design. The sales lady assured us the shop was going to attend to these minor repairs and the truck would be ready for pick up a week later, when we would be on our way back thru Iowa.

My wife called the sales person during the week to remind of the repairs and she was assured that all was well, the repairs had been done.We were not going to make it on time to pick up the truck,it was a Friday afternoon, the sales person suggested leaving the truck outside the gate and we thought it was a good idea big mistake.

We drove the truck less than ten miles or so to a freightliner dealership they use for a DOT inspection,by the time we got there the truck was covered in plumes of smoke, the little coolant in the engine was leaking out thru a bust pipe.

The dealership at Council Bluffs took care of the pipe and put some coolant in the truck, they said after hours they have an arrangement to take care of the trucks on behalf of Lone Mountain. They did the inspection and gave the truck flying colors. We then left for the other state to return our rental truck since we now had ours.Soon after leaving Council Bluffs the air was not rising above 90 psi,it was taking a long time for the breaks to build up,air was escaping out of the top of the gear shifter,ac was not working, we could no longer reach the sales person, their calls automatically reroute to what they call account managers.

Our account manager  was very cold, unresponsive, and when we finally spoke to her the following week, all she could say was she knew we were not going to get any help fixing the truck. We reminded her we had 48 hours to have problems fixed and we could not make it because we were now on the other side of the country, she said she would get approval from her manager for us to bring the truck to a service centre-their own.

She never called us back,by now the fifth wheel we discovered would not release our borrowed trailer and the check engine light was on.We did not get approval to bring the truck in and by the time we made it back home we went straight to a Cummings dealership to check out the engine check light since they sold us six month/50000 mile warranty for the engine. The guys at Cummings opened the hood and said the truck was inoperable to run engine diagnostics as the cluth fan had fallen off and was barely hanging on the hub.

We made one trip, barely completed it,paid $4200 down, called roadside assistance to fix fifth wheel, signed a $66 000 deal for a lemon. We did not even get access to the decision makers, they refused to talk to us,the account manager and her boss literaly called us fools for trusting, and said you should not have picked up a $66 000 truck outside the gate.Have been out of work now for a week trying to find money to fix this truck,I have a feeling they want me to walk so they can keep the deposit and they will also get to ruin my credit

Last communication with them they said bring it back, and they would provide the labor after I buy the spares. My simple choice is to have the truck towed to them 1018 miles or maybe their suggestion fix it enough to drive ($2600)just for the fan and accessories, plus gas and never mind the engine codes. These people will not lift a finger to help, stay away please.
