October I purchased 4 Maxtor Diamondmax 300GB Sata Drives, over the course of the next 4 months I have had to send back 5 drives (at my expense) due to untimely drive failures. I also was forced (not by maxtor, but by my need to keep my data safe) to purchase an additional hard drive during the weeks while my drive was in transit to be RMA'd.

Maxtor is being as unhelpful as possible, not giving information regarding their software's diagnostic codes to possibly point to the causes of the failure, and they continue to send me back refurbished drives (which I understand they state in their RMA policy, but if they are going to fail in 6 weeks, why waste both their and my money shipping a piece of crap.
