Mercury Marine Mercury refuses to back inflatable boats Fond Du Lac Wisconsin

I have a Mercury 310 airdeck purchased in Feb 2006. I keep it on my boat for 6 months out of the year and have used it approximately a dozen times. So far the seams on the floor have failed 3 times, around the valve stem seams and around the seam for the access area for the keel (this area came completely apart). I had those repaired at a total cost of $200 thus far and it still does not hold air. While this is a hypalon boat with a ten year warranty on seams (a huge marketing and sales point made by all reps), mercury considers the floor not to be part of the boat but an accessory and will only warranty this for a year. They refuse to stand behind their products even though the failing seams are due to what seems to be faulty material and/or workmanship. I am tired of trying to deal with mercury as you get nowhere with these people. The absolutely refuse do do anything and The dealer I purchased this boat from no longer sells them. Mercury's excuse is: the floor is an accessory and only carries a one year warranty so there is nothing we can do. It is totally out of our control. What a joke!! What a lame excuse!!! I know for a fact that Achilles will go the extra mile to make their customers happy. If I had known mercury was like this, and I new the floor only carried a one year warranty I would not have purchased this boat.

I am trying to do my best to let all distributors and retailers of mercury inflatables know the problems they will encounter with the floor and the difficulty in dealing with mercury customer service. In addition, if you do need a repair, good luck finding a factory authorized tech, they do not exist
