Microsoft Online Charging $21.95 to my bank account monthly for a service I don't receive, on a debit card I've never used online Internet

I received a statment of account from my bank for the month of September on which was a charge for $21.95 for Microsoft Online. The effective date on the bill was 09/19. I have never subscribed to this service nor would it make sense for me to do so. You see, I would have to incurr long distance charges for I use a dialup connection and am in a bad location for using MSN.

This charge was said to have been made with my wife's debit card for our checking account. Funny thing is, we have never used this card online and also my wife doesn't use the computer, ever! How did they get this information?? To remedy this situation, we have to file a charge dispute with our bank and that will take 10 days, also we have to cancell my wife's debit card and get another reissued.

In conclusion, how did these scammers get critical information about a card that we rarely use, and never use online? Is this Microsoft behind this scam or someone(s) posing as Microsoft? A lesson to be learned by this is to pay attention! Account for every penny!
