I need advice. My mother received a letter from MCM in Jan 2008 demanding payment for a Newport News acct that had been charged off in April 2005. She immediately sent a letter disputing the charges under the Fair Debt Collection Practices act.

My mom heard nothing back from them & she died in May 2008. My father received a letter from MCM 9/22/08 with documentation showing the NN acct had been charged off in 2005 & demanding pymt of over $10,000!

My question is since my mother died & in no way acknowledged this acct, what can we do? Pls HELP!!
