The online based company MyPoints.com is a large company making money from all the sponsers that mail you with offers. The company MyPoints makes big bucks should you even just to click for five points or entertain the offer mailed to you for in the hundreds or thousands of points range.

The gripe is that MyPoints does not credit its members correctly as reported my numerous online reports. My case personally the site does not send out cards anymore. They had in the past and now cease to respond to your requests.

I requested they send me a simple ten dollar card for a pharmacy. I never got the card asked them about it they investigated and credited my points back. Then I order another card assuming they made good on crediting my points they would send this next card for sure. No, I log on and see that they credited the points back with out even an email to tell me. This was holiday time. What if I had planned to give the card out to someone. Now, awaiting another card. The thing has not shown up and it has been over a month maybe two by now.

I plan to get my money in cards and close my account with these scam artists. I however have to get my money back first. Because, then if I close my account they win don't they? Matter fact they encourage people to close accounts. They do not have to redeem anything on you. The link is highly visable all over to close account.

Bottom line. This company MyPoints.com is nothing more than a waste of time. They will make your email box look like it will explode. The amount of spam you get will exceed anything you could imagine.

My Points

AUTHOR: Mr S - ()

POSTED: Friday, February 07, 2014

I had a very bad experiance with these folks just recently. I have been with my points for 12 years. I redeemed a 10.00 BP card but got a sears card. The customer service i got was terible they just told my sorry your stuck with the card even if the error was ours. I told them i was closing my account. They did not seem to care. Watch out for this company.

Mypoints is O.K.

AUTHOR: Ihateks - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, October 03, 2011

I've been a member of Mypoints since 1999. Only very rarely have I had an issue, usually the fault of the computer I'm on, while clicking for points. And I've gotten my Rewards very quickly--often within 2 weeks when it was promised in 6-8 weeks. As for them trying to get you to unsubscribe, they provide an easily visible link for your convenience, so you can't say you were trapped or can't find out how to unsubscribe. Count your blessings--I've gotten great customer service from them. As the other poster said, be sure to read and understand what you're getting into. Maybe it isn't the fault of Mypoints; the problem could be you. People these days seem to expect too much about things, and have a preconcieved notion of how things "should" work, when in reality they work differently. Heaven forbid they should have to read anything that contradicts their preconcieved notion. Reading is one of the foundations of civilization, and be thankful you live in a country where you can read anything you like. So be civilized and read before signing up for anything, okay?

As a former employee of MyPoints I would like to clear up some things this poster said.

"The company MyPoints makes big bucks should you even just click for five points." - Not true. Depending on the type of deal with the client, they may or may not get paid on the click. When they do it's a small amount, like a cent or so. The real money is on the backend, like a member signing up for a program or buying something.

"MyPoints does not credit its members correctly as reported my numerous online reports." - Yes, they do. The most common reason points are not awarded is that members fail to use the email address associated with their MyPoints account when they purchase or sign up for something. The other reason is actually beyond MyPoints control: since most transactions occur on the client sites they must rely on them to provide the transaction information. In some cases this can be automated but in other cases it can't, and MyPoints is at the mercy of the client to send this data so the points can be awarded. MyPoints tries very hard to ensure clients submit this data in a timely fashion so members can be awarded. Unfortunately the clients sometimes have issues and are unable to submit the data or take forever to do so. So, yes, there are times when members won't get their points but it is not because they are being scammed. The Member Services team is also very good about looking into these situations and crediting points.

"My case personally the site does not send out cards anymore." - Yes, they do. Go to the redeem section on the site. See all those cards?

"I requested they send me a simple ten dollar card for a pharmacy. I never got the card." - Does your current home address match the address associated with your MyPoints account? As long as the information in your account is accurate you should get the card. Most people who redeem actually get their cards very quickly.

"The amount of spam you get will exceed anything you could imagine." - I found this one the most humorous. When you signed up for MyPoints you opted in to receiving those emails. That is not spam. How do you think the MyPoints program works? You get emails (that you opted in to receive) and you respond to those emails to get points. If you'd rather use the website only and not receive the emails simply log in to your account and un-check the box for BonusMails.

Just because you had a bad experience due to your lack of knowledge and failure to read everything when you signed up doesn't mean the program is a scam. MyPoints is very committed to ensuring their members have the best possible experience. I think there are something like 8 million members now and most of them are happy. So quit being an ignoramus.
