Previous apt mgr at Stone Gables Apts in Raeford, NC, made a consistent habit of creating fake charges to military & retirees trying to move out.  Lies of filthy apts, broken items, etc were always the same. Tenants were comparing their "charges" and found they were all identical.

In our case, as retirees, this mgr, April Roberts-Scripture thought we would lay down & just pay it, like most of the military who were being delployed & had to settle, so they paid it. We didn't. So when we got a notice that more money was due (after we gave notice & followed all the protocol for lease termination before moving with the previous mgr) we called April to find out what this money was for & left multiple messages requesting a call back.  She refused to return calls, she wouldn't answer at all & had the staff cover for her. This went on for a couple of weeks.

We then had cops showing up at our door with an arrest. We found out, April had gone to the city Magistrate and filed a fraudulent complaint on us, saying we were "stalking" her & harassing her by "cyber bullying". We took her to court & the court threw it out, based on NO evidence to back her claims. She obviously had to get her own atty because Monument Properties (now Maxus Properties) wasn't going to pay for it.

Along with this she turned us over to a NCC Business services for the unjustified amount of $656.13... claiming we owed it for rent, even though we did pay our rent up to the time we left & gave them the week (already paid for) to rent it out again. So she's tapping residents for MORE money.  The inept staff let the apt sit empty & never bothered to rent it, thinking we'd pay for it.

We now find she's tacked on more money to pay for HER legal fees....  something SHE started & thinks we're going to pay for. We had to hire our own atty to take this to court for nothing.

After calling NCC to find out why this was added, their excuses (no matter who you talk to) are that she can add any amount she wants.

OF COURSE.  This is how they make their fraudulent money. They don't to listen to the illegitimate reason, they're only interested in getting your money under false pretenses. I got nothing but arguments, excuses & going around in circles. These clowns are nothing but crooks & certainly NOT legit by any standards in their dirty operations.  They need to be SHUT DOWN.
