NTB TX NATL TIRE & BAT # 735 FALSE CLAIM THAT BRAKE WORK WAS NEEDED HUMBLE, Texas

On Monday, 05/09/2011, I took my 2005 Ford Explorer Sport-Trac into the neighborhood NTB to complain about the brakes squealing as I back out of the drive.  Just started.  I asked them to look at my brakes and gave them the keys.  

When they came back they gave me an estimate and said I needed a completely new set of brakes, new rotors, front & back, new pads, front & back, install & labor.  Total charges to be $698.92. 

I said I'd have to build up the funds and come back.  

What I hadn't told them was that I had just had a complete brake job done in September of 2010 with 83,852 miles.  The vehicle now has 99,381 miles.  

I took the vehicle to the shop that did the brake job the last time, they inspected it, called me back and showed me that the brakes were in great shape.  They pointed out that I had over 50% of the brake pads and the rotors were in good shape as well.  I thanked them and departed.  

I next went into another brake shop in the area and asked them to look at my brakes for any service needed.  After a bit they came out and said though they would really like my business the brakes were in good shape and didn't need any work at this time.

I went back to the shop that did the brake job and also did the inspection showing no need for additional brake work and bought a new set of tires.

Don't use these people in Humble and if you do make them give you the parts they take off.
