Just like the other thousand people here on the site, i was also suckered into the whole ramada plaza cruise vacation deal. I would have been happy to take the trip, but i incurred a significant amount of medical bills, and suddenly, i realized i would not be able to work anymore, and therefor, i would definetly not be able to afford to go on this trip. I called the company to cancel my trip, and ask for a refund ($1,193) i was then told i would not be able to receive a refund, since i was passed this statutory period.
First of all, it said nothing in the package about a statutory period. Maybe it was supposed to, but it didn't. It did however say that if i wanted to cancel, i would be able to do so with full refund of funds paid as long as it was a certain number of days before my reservation. I had no reservations yet, so i should have been entitled to a full refund, as far as the terms and conditions are concerned. Well anyway, after battling with the person on the phone for half a day, I've gotten nowhere.
Anyway, my complaint is simple. They seem to be making all these rules as they go along. Making reasons to refuse refunds, and chasing you in circles to hold onto your money. But most of all, how could they be allowed to tell you your entitled to a refund if returned x amount of days before the reservation date, and then when you try to take advantage of this, they tell you that it is not possible, because of some phony statutory period? Ive read the terms and conditions inside and out, and they have breached their terms. There is no 2 ways around it.

7 Day Caribbean Cruise
Ramada Plaza Getaway
41'' LCD TV
Companion Airfare
$10,000 Cash
WOW!
Hmmm... do we smell a ''Ramada Plaza Resort/ Imperial Majesty Cruise Line vacation voucher'' here??
Gee, how lucky can I get? I can ALSO buy a used car or truck! Especially since they included a check [actually, the fine print says 'non-negotiable coupon', but why quibble?] for $1,977.00 to help me BUY that used car or truck!
Its too bad... it is really too stinkin' bad... that I don't need a used car or truck...

If it wasn't for Ripoff Report i would of lost my money. I received an Imperial Majesty Cruise line vacation voucher for total of $1,300. SCAM SCAM SCAM! I called the toll free number 1-800-401-2076 to see what this was all about. So the guy on the phone explained to me the deal for 25 mins or so going on explaining how this trip will be amazing and beautiful. I was told i can pay the min balance 200.$ and that I will receive a package in the mail following his instruction for the rest of the payment. THEY WILL INSTRUCT YOU TO CALL THIS NUMBER 1-800-203-9783!! So I gave him my information like an idiot. As he was talking and processing the transaction I came across this site saying its a scam. I immediately canceled the transaction right on the spot and told the guy off! He then hung up on me. Just mins later I immediately called my credit card to cancel the transaction. luckily I was saved thanks to ripoff report. Thanks to you guys that posted this up. I hope they can investigate this further. Its not fair for anyone to go through with this.
