Ramada Plaza Resorts good experience, service Ripoff Orlando Florida

I went to the Ramada Plaza Resorts hotel in Orlando, stayed at the Amerihost Inn, which is an acceptably nice hotel, for 4 days. The location is great for Disney and Universal Studios, as well as many other Orlando attractions.

My trip was postphoned because of bad weather with Hurricane Catrina, and I was charged $200: 50 to change the hotel, 150 to change the cruise. this was later refunded after writing a nice handwritten letter to the company address.

The cruise to the Bahamas was great, and the snorkeling tour and beach day was excellent. The food on board was very good, as was the friendly and interesting people and employees. My wife and I had a great time on our honeymoon, and we got a great price going with the package. Unfortunatly, we had two twin beds in our room. I am sure that the staff would have fixed the situation but the wife didn't want to worry about it.

The Orlando hotels are pretty good, but the Ft. Lauderdale one is in a bad part of town. There are a lot of questionable characters around the hotel, and a lot of closed shops. I would avoid this area completely. We used our rental car and drove from Orlando to Ft. Lauderdale for our cruise. I would suggest this, as it is a nice 3 hour drive.
