Adaptive Marketing Attempting to add additional charges to my credit card Des Plaines Illinois

I let my mother spend one dollar on my credit card in order to obtain a twenty-five dollar gift certificate from Walmart. She is new to the web, so I cannot say whether or not they stated that they would tack on additional charges as well. I just gave her my credit card information over the phone.
While looking over my credit card statement, I noticed that a transaction titled shopping essentials in the amount of one dollar was pending on a date other than the date of the transaction that was already settled. Both transactions were from the same company, yet had different phone numbers next to them where they could be reached.
I called one of them, and a man by the name of David stated that I would also be charged $29.95 a month for additional fees. Needless to say I canceled this "account" before this could happen. As far as this extra dollar they are trying to charge, it is still pending. He said that he was not seeing an extra dollar pending on this account.
I am writing this report to warn other people who might go through the same scam. Be sure to keep track of your spending summaries, I was lucky enough to nip it in the bud before it escalated any further.
