Sun Gas Gas gouging of tourists and visitors to Orlando area Orlando, Florida

I was visiting the Orlando area for a conference, like thousands of people do every year. I needed gas before I could get back on the Interstate, so stopped at this gas station at a very busy intersection near the conference hotel and the airport.

There were no prices posted on either marquee, but it appeared neat and clean and not in a dangerous area. I started pumping my gas, but before too long I noticed the dollar amount was much too high for the number of gallons I had pumped. I stopped and looked again....the per gallon price on the pump was $5.79! I had paid with a debit card, so I took the receipt into the store, thinking there was an error: Gas everywhere right now is about $3.50 a gallon.

The young man in the store said it was because "we're so close to the airport." This simply isn't true...there are many gas stations on that same busy street, and they did not charge that much. This business does this because they can get away with it, at least once with every out of town visitor who falls prey to this gouging, like I did.
