I received a speeding ticket in indian river, FL a 93 in a 70. I dont have any other tickets on my record so I contacted the ticket cliinc to represent me to have the ticket reduced or dismissed. The person that answered the phone was happy enough to take my 175.00 and told me that I should receive a notice of outcome 5 days after my court date. 3 days before my courtdate I recived a call that I needed to sign a retainer agreement that stated they could not guarentee my outcome.
Unable to go to court myself because of being out of state at the time i was forced to sign the agreement. The outcome was a letter from the court with a cover from a legal assistant. I was found guilty with a $240.00 dollar fine. They company apparently plead no contest. The court gave me 30 days to pay, but since it took them 2 weeks(not 5 days as promised) to mail me the letter I now had 11 days to pay $240 dollars 4 days before christmas.
I then proceded to call the ticket clinic because I still dont know if points were acessed if the charges were reduced etc. The paralegals seem to be the only ones that you can get to talk with and are extremely rude and condescending. I was told by three diffrent people that as per my retainer agreement my case was not guarenteed but somone would call me back to see if they could file a motion to with hold points.
After repeated attempts at reaching this person on the 6th phone call I was told very rudely again by legal assisants that there services were not guarenteed, and if I wanted a file a motion to withhold points that I would have to pay another $175 dollars and that would also not be guarenteed.
So at this point I have paid the ticket clinic 175.00 to plead no contest 240 dollars in court fines and future insurance charges when I could have just went to driving school! The ticket clinic is a scam and can only get you off minor traffic infractions that you could probally get off yourself by doing what they do and pleading no contest.

Sales... You are just a number w/ The Ticket Clini

Joe I feel your pain, but sadly this is how this so call " law firm" the ticket clinic handleyour ticket, you're just a $ sign to them. The " legal assistants" ( sales people) are there just to get your money/ info . The money back guarantee is actually something to confuse the Client in order to get the services . They hire people with no exp. Even in an office setting, is an small percent the ones who knows what they're doing, I left mainly because I don't want to be part of this scam- between other things, not the best " company" to work for. I must say Not all Attorneys are like that, the Ticket Clinic really put the Profession and meaning if being a lawyer to the ground. To stop this : Complains to the Bar association. We complain to the dep. Of labor because of what is going on with us.

The Ticket Clinic gave me a full refund and an apology for the way I was treated on the phone. The ticket lawyer contacted me personally and assured me that they did all they could do in my case and that the phone problems I had were with one bad employee that he would take care of. Although the case did not turn out the way I wanted the ticket clinic showed integrity by mailing my check very quickly and showing honest compasssion for the situation

never informed of traffic school being a better option until after my hearing.

traffic school is a definite reusult for a set amount of money. Does anybody really believe that I would pay you 175 with no guarentee if school was! The truth is the lady that took my money over the phone before they would even agree to represent me. The retainer was signed 2 days before court case because thats when it was emailed to me. I can provide proof of date of both fax confirmation and email sent date. The real problem at hand is after the case was handled incorrectly I called 6 times to get options with no call backs. I was treated rudely and still dont know if I received points and a week to send my fine in. The only time I did get a response was from posting this here.

The point of hiring a company to fight a ticket is to do just that......fight the charge ie.. reduce the charge, get the case dismissed or just to file a motion to withhold points. And yes in a perfect world we all do the speed limit. I paid a lawyer to represent me and he pretty much just did what I could have done myself plead no contest. The other problem I had was that I still dont even know if I got any points and have to pay the fine in one weeks time!

CLIENT JUST USED US EARLIER THIS YEAR WITH GREAT RESULTS
AUTHOR: Ted Hollander - (U.S.A.)

This client hired us for another speeding ticket (80/55 mph zone) earlier this year, with great results (no points, no school, no conviction, no court appearance). Obviously, he was happy with the service, since he hired us again to defend another speeding ticket (93/70 mph zone). He was warned that due to the speed and the county in which the ticket was issued, that he should elect to go to traffic school, as that was his best option. He signed a retainer agreement, which spells this out in clear detail. This retainer agreement was e-mailed to this client more than 6 weeks before the court date, and he had plently of opportunity to review it. He chose to ignore the advice that was given to him. Complete client satisfaction is what we strive to achieve through honesty and competant legal advice, even if it means turning away a case to help the client get a better result.

It Sounds Like a Bad Business Decision

I guess my initial thought was that the cops had you. As much as you might have wanted to not deal with this - being out of state at the time of the hearing just isn't a valid enough reason to employ a company like this. It would have been a better decision to either (1) reschedule the trip, or (2) reschedule the hearing. Is this company a rip-off? In the situation you were in, it probably was a poor decision to employ this company unless there were mitigating reasons why you were speeding, or it was a trap, or something the cops did and they did nothing to fight for you. If the cops had you, traffic school and the fine would have been the better decision - that would give you the flexibility you needed.

So, why should it have been reduced?

I agree that this place sounds like a scam.. but seriously. You were driving over 20 miles above the speed limit, were you not? Why on earth should the ticket be lowered or dismissed? Are you denying you were speeding?
If you can't do the time, don't do the crime.
