I opened up an account with RoadLoans to help my sister purchase a car two months ago. I am a very credit conscious person and check my balances almost obsessively.

I went to log onto triadfinancial.com to check my account today because I mailed them a payment well over a week ago and it hasn't come out of my account yet. The website doesn't exist anymore! It was available to me last month. I even tried roadloans.com and that website is also gone!

I did a google to see if they changed their website address and this was one of the first pages that came up. Which means it has more hits than any other website involving Triad or Roadloans. I did this to help my sister and now I'm worried I signed up for five years of hell.

After reading as many experiences as I could in the last hour, I went through all my paperwork I signed and I noticed there is no interest formula specified anywhere. It does however state very clearly my monthly payment and the term. It also states the total amount I agreed to pay at the term of the loan. I have moved this contract to a FIREPROOF drawer to eliminate added stress on my end. However, I'm still very worried.

My credit score dropped severely when I opened up this loan because I'm now considered more of a risk. I have opened up 3 new accounts in the last 12 months. (I'm also an obsessive credit report checker) So now I don't think I can refinance! I'm feeling very vulnerable and trapped and I'm so so very sorry to all of you that paid your bills on time in good faith and still had problems with this company. I hope I am not their next victim. The bill was due on the 19th. We'll have to wait and see if I get a call on Monday for my tardiness, even though I mailed it over a week ago to an address located in the same state!

These types of predatory lenders specialize in the dirty tactic of deliberately damaging/ruining your credit so that you can't re-finance with a legitimate company. Payments don't get posted and they report to the credit bureaus that you are multiple months late. which will wreak havoc with your credit.

Try to re-finance this loan with another company. If you can't, it is CRITICAL that you keep all correspondence with this firm in the form of a Registered Letter with Return Receipt. This will cost $3 each time, but it's worth it.

Send out two Registered Letters with Return Receipt per month. one requesting the balance due per month.

Send all payments via Registered Mail with Return Receipt. If you use this method it's impossible for them to pull the late payment - repossession scam that they play so well. If they try this you'll have excellent documentation against them

The site is still there. I was just there. Try the roadloans.com again. Sometimes they do site maintenance and it's down. Make sure you enter the www some sites won't take you there unless you do. If that doesn't work, clear you computer cache and try again. Sometimes it's simply a cookie issue.

I too mailed our regular payment on the 10th. All my other bills get places in 2-4 days. They seem to take the longest. Mine was due on the 18th and according to the website they haven't received it but they didn't call on the 18th, 19th, or 20th, which probably means they have it but haven't posted it.

We are almost done with our loan and we have had only one problem with them. My husband was hurt on the job in 2002 and we were approved for a 2 month deferrment in writing. I still have the letter from them proving it. They still dinged our credit report for a 30 day late!! Luckily when we bought our home I was able to prove with the letter that they had deferred our loan!

I will say that we would not have went with them had I found this site before we did. But we have been one of the lucky ones. I am still worried about getting title when it's paid off but we'll fight that when the time comes.

Our loan with them is a simple interest so yours is probably as well. I'm surprised it's not mentioned in your paperwork tho'.

I wish you had found ROR before choosing Triad. Good luck and don't stress too much. How many years did you commit for?
