I was contacted by United Car Exchange. They said they got my information from Craig's list, and they new I was trying to sell my car. They said they would guarantee the sale of my car within 90 days or they would refund the onetime fee of 199.99. The guy on the phone said he has my pics of the vehicle and description from Craig's list to use to sell the car. He told me I was charging to little and that I should charge 6900.00 for it. I agreed thinking they are the experts and he changed the listing. Before we disconnected I was reassured that if the car is not sold by United Car Echange within 90 days that I would receive my full refund no questions asked. No small pront. That it was a simple cut and dry deal.
Satisfied I payed the fee by check by phone. One month later a lady called me and said my car isn't selling and they want me to look over the asking price and listing description. I did what she said and her request was to lower the price by one thousand dollars. Funny cosifering my asking price in the beginning was close to what she thought was the right price now. So again I listened to her and did what she said. Again before I hung up I asked her about the details of our agreement. She verified what the previous ripp off artist said. I hung up and thought maybe my car will sell now. Needless to say they never called again or sold my car. It ended up selling from a local paper shop in Scranton pa. For 3800.00 dollars two months past the 90 days they said would be the payback date. After I sold the car to a local lady through the paper shop. I called for my refund. That's when there decided to tell me about the true deal and asked if I read the small print that is on the file for refund web address I was givin when I asked for the refund. The lady was very rude and told her workmate that she should be glad she didn't get thus call because I'm a headache and a attitude problem. I'm left sick to my stomach that not only am I out my hard earned money but the employee who deals with refunds treated me in thus manner. Please someone in a position to do something about this contact me I will love to help put a stop to these scam artist companies. Even if I don't get back my money. I would hope to stop this from happening to other people that are trying to privately sell a car and would be fine if left alone. Then they get the phone call that seems to b an answer to their prayers but ends up being their nightmare.
