While I have read plenty of negative responses about the University of Phoenix across message boards from one end of the internet to the other, I can safely say an argument by popular opinion is hardly a sole proving mechanism. In fact it’s a classic fallacy.

With that being said, you can get into graduate school with a degree from this college as it is accredited. Will it hold the weight of Ivy League schools? Certainly not, but what it will do is give you a chance to make a positive life affirming change, in a scenario that has little outs. Most people who go to the University of Phoenix do so because their company will help them pay for it, so they can be promoted past invisible ceilings (already knowing they can do the job) or people who are strapped for time or even still those sad folks who pissed away their youth and are not able to get into the college of their choice based on grades and test scores.

I am an alumnus of this college, and if I had a short term time travel trip, I might have gone another way. However, I cannot be upset because I did not start college till I was a little older, and already had a full gambit of financial responsibilities. This college let me complete it at my own pace, and gave me a modality that put learning in my hands.

I graduated in February 2013, and In August of this year have finally started a job that is in direct line with my degree. While I believe I may have got the job based on my interview skills, more so than my degree, it could not have hurt because the job REQUIRED a degree to even apply. This job is for a company that is primarily a government contractor for work on background investigations. They even offer tuition reimbursement for a number of colleges, University of Phoenix being one of them. If this college is such a failed attempt at robbing foolish people blind, why does this company offer to help pay its tuition?

Shortly before attaining this job (start Monday) I worked at a Private Christian College in the security department (my degree is in IT) and as such, I personally know 3 people who have Computer Science degrees from this private Christian School (which is ABET accredited) and of the 3, I can compete with all but one of them in most any IT related topics and discussions. So I have complete faith in MY degree, maybe not the college’s so much as my own personal experience. They gave me the information, I decided it was up to me to make the best use out of it. You cannot lump an entire school’s graduates in to a tight little convenient box, as I know people from all methods of education (College, trade school, self-taught, etc) and personal responsibility has been the deciding factor with the outcome each and every time. My wife just got finished with a BA at a state school (SRU) and 80% of her grade was group work where in most of her groups she did 95% of the work, she even went as far as to purposely spell a team members name wrong, just to see if anyone noticed – which they did not, and they still graduated off the backs of other people. Not all things are as clearly visible as they appear.

First off, if your company is discriminating against that they themselves (depending on the state) can be sued. Secondly, I have gone to both a brick and mortar and an online school. I find them equally easy to excel in.  The school you mentioned is an accredited school, and the degree is far from worthless. From your report, you seem to have never encountered an online graduate in order to evaluate their skills.
True, these schools do not care about your past grades when you were a child, but you need to be able to prove your knowledge in the classes just as you do in a state university. Anyone can have a chance to go to an online school without the prejudice of what happened in their youth... but that is a good thing. 
University of Phoenix was recently in trouble because they have so many students that just cant make it. There are other schools that have a similar problem. For profit schools such as Harvard and Stanford. Incidentally, they are now offering online classes. I'll hire someone from any school once they show me what they can do. 
I think the issue here is that you are basing your ripoff report off of absolutely zero evidence. Next time, try listing an example of a time when you DID work with someone with this kind of degree rather than that you never would. It just sounds angry.
