I went into the Mansfield, Texas branch of Woodforest National Bank located on Matlock Road to simply cash a check. On my first visit, I presented the check written by their account holder, my temporary state issued drivers license (which by the way has a seal and my picture), a Chase credit card, and my doing business as documents that are filed with the county I reside in and with the State of Texas Attorney General's office. I was asked on numerous occasions, "why don't you just go to your bank?" My response was, " I verified that the funds were available and I came to this bank." I was instructed that I would have to go to my bank and request that they provide a signature guarantee stamp. After I went to my bank and complied with their instructions, I went back to Woodforest National Bank and once again presented my documents to the "so called bank employees including the check with the signature guarantee stamp. Instead of just actually doing their job and cashing the check they kept coming up with new ridiculous reasons of why they could not do their job. Not only were these two employees worthless they were both lazy and unprofessional. During our conversation the "so-called" branch manager, Shaniqua Buster reached down between two desks unlocked a cabinet and pulled out a bag of Doritos sour cream and onion chips and started eating them. I have never experienced a manager that was having a conversation with any customer start smacking on chips. It was crazy!! I did not even realize that she was in a position of authority until she presented me with her card. The other worthless employee at the branch that wasted my time and insulted my intelligence with her riduculous excuses was Devetria Musgrove. My advice to anyone shopping for a new bank.......do not waste your time with Woodforest National Bank. The irony of the situation is I qualified for a mortgage loan and wanted to get information from this bank about their interest rates and fees. So their laziness, rudeness, and unprofessionalism cost the bank a customer. As a business owner, I thank my lucky stars that I do not have these two idiots representing my company....WOODFOREST NATIONAL BANK, (a national located company) CAN HAVE TWEEDLE DUMB AND TWEEDLE DUMBER!!!!

Really...

It is again ironic that you spent 90% of your update trying to defend two simple statements...yet totally avoiding any of the actual questions. So to refresh your memory....
You stated that even after you got the guarantee they still gave you ridiculous reasons why they wouldn't cash the check. Yet you avoided letting us know what those reasons were.
You originally talk about giving them a temporary ID. Yet all of the sudden they had access to your license and a receipt for your license...Umm...So why didn't you show them this real license when you went there. One of two reasons...you are making it up or your license was not actually valid anymore. Again an invalid license(for any reason) is worth as much as a plugged nickle(go look it up).
You say you don't have to give a reason why you are trying to cash it at this bank. Well guess what. I NEVER asked for a reason and could care less. The ONLY thing I mentioned is that it is probably for a significant amount of money.
But I do like how you latched onto the Dorritos comment, but that just proves the "fluff" point. When a person puts in such a specific detail that really doesn't matter, such as the flavor of the chips someone was supossedly eating, yet skip much more important details such as the "ridiculous resaons" they denied the check. That is the basic definition of Fluff where you are posting things to "fluff" up your report while not really saying anything...and hope that no one notices.
As for the Mortgage...same thing applies. The PRE-Approval letter you had was dated back in May, and now almost 6 weeks later you are wanting people to believe that you are still shopping for rates and only if this bank had cashed that check would you consider them. Okay...if that is what you want to try and pass off go right ahead...but it is a bit far fetched.

Robert, I appreciate the very personal interest that you seem to have taken with my situation in regards to Woodforest National Bank. In a way, you seem like you could be a little "bank angel" that is looking out for them. Anyway....Let me address the issues that seem to leave you somewhat perplexed. First of all unless you happen to possess some type of "six sense" or can teleport yourself and remain invisible you really are not in any position to reiterate what was said by either party. Although you were not at the actual bank branch when this transpired you seem to speak about the situation as though were an active participant...or so you think. I going to attempt to eliminate any questions or concerns about you overture of creating fluff. I know it is hard to believe but these two women were nasty, dumber then a box of rocks, and plain unprofessional. To clarify the issue with my id, along with my temporary State of Texas issued, signed, and sealed license and receipt for that said license I had a permanent license that these two employees had access to and could have viewed...but did not. Your comment about their "protecting the bank from fraud". The guaranteed signature stamp relieved this financial institution from any and all acts of fraud that could have transpired on my part. I don't have to give anyone a reason I why I choose to cash the check at the bank that issued the check. If you can share with me a better course of action than either number one; depositing the check in my account or number two; taking the check to the bank it was issued by....I am all ears. Robert, not that I owe you any explanation but there was no fluff added to my accurate account of the events that transpired. The only fluff added was onto the a@s of the employee that decided to snack on a bag of chips mid-conversation. Which brings me to your next comment about the chips. I am 5'2" and weigh around 120 and do not eat a lot of chips so I do not think I could qualify for a "chip expert" but after doing some research, I was mistaken, the flavor of chips was cool ranch not sour cream. I bet that Shaniqua or Devetria could identify any bag of chips from 100 yards away and would not have made the same mistake. !!Now that Robert was some fluff...I threw it in just for you!! I can't comment on the "time-warp" comment because I don't get your reasoning for that specific reference. I am attaching to documents to my comments in regards to your comments an advertisement for the chips that I was mistaken about and my letter of approval from a mortgage company. Why would I have to lie about anything in regards to the situation. Even though it might be difficult to accept, the bottom line is that employees were just as I described them. For your future information, not all mortgage companies or banks have the same exact interest rate or fees. In comparison, it would sort of be like buying a new car. I don't think I would just purchase the first one I viewed....I would compare the asking price and/or offered features with other dealerships to receive the best possible price. It is called being an informed consumer!! Let me know Robert if I can answer any more of your questions.

They were doing their job

Their job is to protect their customers and the bank from fraud.
You tried to cash a check with a TEMPORARY ID...which may have a seal and your photo, but it is still TEMPORARY and many companies will not accept it as ID. A credit card..Not ID, and DBA paperwork...again not really ID or any proof that is you.
You don't mention the amount of this check, but the higher the value the more cautious the bank is going to be. With the effort you are putting in to avoid deposting it in your bank we can figure it is probably a significant amount and not some $20 check someone gave you.
You also don't mention what these "ridiculous reasons" were for still not cashing the check, but I bet they actually weren't that ridiculous.
But you know what killed your "RipOff"...trying to add fluff and exaggrations to your report to make them sound as bad as possible. When in effect it just puts doubt on your entire report.
For example...Dorritos unless you are in a time warp they do not sell Sour Cream and Onion chips. Also, if you were approved for a mortgage already you would know the rates. So the only irony in this is that you waisted more time trying to get them to cash the check, because you even went back to your bank when you were at your bank to get them to give you a guarantee.
