Worldwide Readers Service contacted me a few months ago promising me a deal on magazines, a chance at a $1M drawing in December and two sets of free airline tickets anywhere in the US.
I authorized one out of three (supposed) payments on my C/C (the following month another decuction was made for the same amount). I beleive it was about $40. I never recieved one iota of correspondence from them via the USPS, online or by phone! Not in 2 months.
I got a call today (9-25-09) saying I hadn't made my "agreed to payments". When I told the the lady I only authorized one of the 3 (agreed to payments) directly out of my account this was her response...
"Sir, you agreed to pay for twenty-four months on this subscription and you are on a recording that will be turned over to a collection agency!"
Thirty to forty dollars a month (24 months!) for some magazines that costs half that...please!!!
These people need to be held accountable! If you have had anything to do with them they could be negativley affecting your credit. If any Law Firm or group of individuals is seeking damages against this company I'm in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too am in the same situation and would like to know how any one else has handled this? I do not want this scam company hurting my credit score and I hope someone will be able to help.

I am currently in the exact same situation. I have received two letters from them demanding payment as well as a phone call from Tracey threatening to send me to collections. I do not see how they could really follow through and send us to collections if we have more documentation than they do showing that they took money without sending any product.
My guess is that they will keep hounding until they eventually give up, but nothing damaging could really be done. If anyone HAS been sent to collections, could you please post? It would help us all know if additional measures of protection should be taken. All I have done so far is change my bank account information and keep a log of dates/times they have contacted me.

The woman who called me was named Tracy Armijo from Colorado at 303-922-3135. She stated that she was a representative of Worldwide Readers Service.
Also they are still trying to debit my account...3rd month in a row. Oh, did I mention I never recieved a thing from them? That is nerve, especially to call and threaten me witha collection agency. Is there no Law Firm out there who cares?
